Swarovski Mini Cooper

Though I’m sure that the Royal wedding is nothing but a pretext for this bling thing, I have to admit it looks pretty interesting. For a blinged car!
Bling My Thing (which is actually a lucrative Berlin business) used a Mini Cooper to present what they think should be the perfect matrimonial car for the Royal Couple. Adorned with more than 300,000 Swarovski crystals, with, biensur, a Union Jack roof, the sparkling Mini looks really princess-ish, despite my usual reserves when it comes to blinged up goods. Would I drive one of these if the occasion presented itself? Sure. Would I want one to own and drive on a regular basis? Not in a million years. How about you? (via)

The New It Accessory: Flowers. Flowers On Your Face

Continuing the accessories issue right here to help us make up our mind more styling inspiration for theSpring / Summer season. There’s a new take on the flowers you might have ignored so far:Flowers on your face? Glued on?
As I look more at the image of Amalie Hartmann as styled for a Pull & Bear ad campaign, my doubts regarding the face flowers styling are building up. First because I can hardly stand bracelets around my wrists, let alone flowers glued on my face, second – talking about glue – what kind of glue would one need to pull this aesthetic flawlessly? And – where do I get the flowers in the first place? Is there a flowers – for – your -face kit somewhere or do I just simply go out and get some?
Let’s have a little flowery talk, you and me! About headpieces that are slowly falling out of grace due to extra using and the new Flowers On Your Face thing! Would you do it? (the image is part of the Alberto Murta’s Pull & Bear Spring 2011 Ad campaign which was photographed by Txema Yeste, starring Mackenzie Wenmann, Amalie Hartmann, Elinor Jade, Max Motta and Arthur Sales; Pull & Bear via)

Scarlett Johansson’s Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2011 Cosmetics Ad Campaign

I’m loving Dolce & Gabbana, it’s not a secret. And I’m loving the hot, playful, sunny summertime. Time for outdoor fun, garden parties and flowery dresses.
(gone daydreaming) Yeah, so I was saying I’m loving Dolce & Gabbana.. Yes, I do, and, this time, surprisingly, I love their Cosmetics Ad Campaign withScarlett Johansson. Something about her this time it’s dreamy gorgeous. I was thinking yellow bananas or Chanel soft mint. Now I have to add purple satin on my summer manicure list! And that soft eye makeup is adorable! What have they been using to obtain that maximum effect with that looks like minimum makeup input? I see mascara, I see kohl (black or gray) but other than that, I’m clueless. Any ideas? (via)

Dare To Wear The Eclectic Recycled Neckpieces By V & Y?

I was trying to come up with an attractive title, something that’ll draw you over but not too giving, more teasing than anything. I may have succeeded, you’ll tell me, but the truth is I really wanted you to discover theV & Y neckpieces.Scarves that double as necklaces. In a green attitude.
The layered neckpieces are actually made of upcycled t – shirts repurposed and injected into a new, highly fashionable existence. You can wear the neckpieces either as scarves, tighten up to keep you warm and pop out from you jacket or coat but also as necklaces, hanging out to anyone’s surprise and envy. (more after the jump!)

There’s much to be said about these amazing pieces. That they’re green enough to make it through the most pretentious eco comb, that they’re stylish and highly customizable so that anyone can think of new and personalized ways of wearing them. You can even say that they’re a challenge for your inner DIY fashionista but the truth is they look great as they are and I’d love to try one of them and parade around with it! It’s a soothing balm for my restless scarf wearing fanatic.

Oh, and I haven’t told you the best part yet! Alongside V & Y, there’s a new label, also created by Lauren Constantine (who’s a full time stylist besides making her own accessories brand which I completely support and admire!). It’s called El Bow Co and it’s about bows. Hair bows, people! And you know how I adoooore hair accessories, bows and flowers, anything that goes in the hair, really! I can’t leave the house without even the smallest thing hanged in my hair! Check out those Minnie Mouse-ish bows! They’re adoooorable! So what say you? Bows and necklaces from V & Y, would you give them a try? (you can find the crafty creations here)

Louis Vuitton Animals By Billie Achilleos

Oh, the Louis Vuittonpeople! sigh! I wish it would be easier to snug them! I wish I wouldn’t be so touched and impressed by their marketing wise maneuvers! But look at this! How can you stand cold faced with such artistic excellence?
Commissioned by Louis Vuitton, the witty people from Chameleon Visualknew exactly who they would bring on board for this special event which would help spice up the Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2011 Press day in Paris:Billie Achilleos, a British artist who is truly crafty, inspired and inspiring with clever installations. Thus the 4 Louis Vuitton animals were born: the Armadillo, the Beaver, the Chameleon, the Grasshopper. All entirely made out of small leather (and more) goods from Louis Vuitton! Just hit the jump for more creative amazingness! (or click here for the gallery!)

Don’t, however, take this lightly and assume the four animals were made by chance just because this is all the artist could came up with from a pile ofLouis Vuitton accessories! Oh, no! There’s a reason for each and every one of them: the Armadillo is there to highlight the materials strength, the Beaver stands for functionality, the Chameleon – what else – for color and the Grasshopper for the sounds of zips and press studs, biensur!

The collaboration is not random as well as not at its first installment. Billie Achilleos, a BA in Technical Arts and Special Effects from Wimbledon College of Art (2007) was first approached by Louis Vuitton back in 2010 when they wanted a pretty “Collector” installation for the windows of their Luis Vuitton New Bond Street Maison. The result was amazing and the collaboration went further (and I hope they won’t stop here). Billie is some kind of wonderful and her intricate, inspiring work will continue to delight me as I am determined to follow her work furthermore.

Also – does this project somehow brings in mind a certain dog purse (fake Louis Vuitton) we saw a while back making the rounds of the fashinterwebs (and more)? Because I’m having a case of serious deja – vu! (and no, I’m not charging the artists for she was commissioned by the house of Vuitton for this animals project! – artsy and crafty as it may be, I’m convinced someone in the house of Vuitton is charged with searching high and low the interwebs for … well.. whatever may be used for or against LV?)
